A320 Sharklets CFM Climbing bug

Post by Quest321 » Mon May 01, 2023 2:52 pm

So for the first time today. Idk what I did different. But during my climb. AP kept my auto speed to only 200kn. It's like the plane didn't register that the flaps were up and to speed up to 250kn I had set AP and AT after takeoff. Went for a smoke. Came back and she was climbing pass FL230 at only 200kn at a pitch of 10 degrees. I had to manually put in speed 320kn and she leveled out and took like forever to just gain the speed and resumed climb. I had set the speed back to auto to see what it would do and is now thinking I'm on decent via the fmc, and is trying to bring me down to 240kn. This has never acted like this before and I did the standard start up. Flight plan was made with departure and arrival. I programmed everything correctly. I'll try it again once I land at my destination and hop over to the next. I'll refresh the plane and see how it acts again.

So you had gear up, flaps up? it was a mistake on the aircraft system that did not increase speed beyond 200kts?

next time confirm your plane is 'clean' after climb out, and you don't have any flaps, spoilers or gear down when climbing for cruise, and let us know

Everything was up. That was my first thought. Gear down? I looked. Gear was up. Flaps. 0°, APU off, spoilers ARMED, Landing lights on. It was a standard takeoff I've done many times. I even thought maybe the engine bleed was off. And it was on like standard. It was beyond me. Im doing another flight after this and I'll report back again once I take off again.

Okay so. After a full refresh. I started up normally via the tablet with the GPU first. Got everything going. Took off and now shortly after take off. The auto speed went to 250kts and not 200kts like before. Only thing I did different was use the world map to make my flight plan vs manually inputting in the MCDU cause I like to use airways. Could me programming the MCDU to include the airways cause a error in the auto speed for the climb?

No, so at what point the speed reduced to 200kts?

only if you switched to approach phase on the mcdu that would happen
