Struggle reducing speed whilst descending

Hi,

I have found it quite difficult to slow down whilst descending in the a320ceo. Even with spoilers out it just doesn't want to slow down. My v/s speed ranges between -1000 to -2000 so nothing ridiculous. I have never had this issue in the a319/21 or default a320n just seems to be the 320ceo.

I have asked around and found that people are having similar problems.

Cheers

Using the V/S for descend is tricky and complex.

We suggest you use OPEN DESCEND to descend at selected speed, and try to calculate your T/D.

Next update will allow you to see distance to fix and distance to destination so you can plan your descent better based on a rule of thumb method.

Ultimately we plan on implementing VNAV with the MCDU update. So that's also next.

In the meantime use OPEN descend as that way you can achieve correct speed whilst descending.

Things look really positive!

I still seem to have problems slowing down on the approach and I don't understand why as I'll be descending at around 700fpm with gear out and flaps?

How are you managing your approach? I've never had any issues decelerating on this aircraft. You want to enter your final approach leg at around 170kts, letting the A/T manage your dialed in speeds and working the flaps during the final descent. If not on A/T, manually manage the speed so that you touch down at around 140kts - you should not even have to use spoilers unless you're coming in hot.

Without A/T I manage my approach exactly as you have described. It has always been fine on the other variants it just seems to be this one. I put a message into the MSFS Xbox group and had many say that they are seeming to have the same issue.
