Updates on older sceneries

Post by Kevin_28 » Thu May 09, 2019 9:09 pm

Hey there,

I remember it was stated that LatinVFR was planning on doing some updates to older sceneries like KSNA to fix landclass issues, etc. Is that still planned? I know you have a lot more things on your plate now then when this was stated, so I understand if that idea was pushed back. Also, will the PBR update to KMIA also include a different method of animating the runway lights so that they don't bounce up and down?

Hi, an update for KSNA regarding the landclass, I believe there is a manual fix, have you read about it? we certainly hope to come up with an update to KSNA in the coming months.

In regards to KMIA, yes the bouncing lights is an issue we have fixed and we will use a similar animation to that we have just started using on KMSY... don't know if you have seen it.

Among with that fix, many other significant fixes are coming to KMIA as well as additions.

What is that 'manual fix'?
I saw the one that says to "untick our land class in the "scenery configurator tool'. "
I've run FTX central and looked in the control panel for "NA Southern California", "Global BASE Pack", "Global VECTOR", and "Settings, Configure". Nowhere do I see a KSNA 'land class'. I've also looked on the "Airport Elevation Corrections" tab of the ftxGLOBAL VECTOR configuration tool. KSNA is not listed there either.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks for the response! So glad to hear that you're still planning on updating those airports. Again, I know you're quite a bit busy with all the new projects, etc. I would completely understand if you ended up putting that on the back burner. I mainly just wanted to know if it was still being considered. I have unticked the landclass in the KSNA configurator tool and yes that does solve the issue with the night tiles showing up during the day and day tiles showing up at night (I don't use vector, so I don't have the elevation issue), but that does disable the nice extended scenery around the airport.

Scott:
I think the confusion is that Ricardo is talking about the actual KSNA configuration tool that was included with the install. It's not located in ORBX FTX Central. It's a separate program.
