Airbus Eventual Fidelity Level

Post by atcogl » Fri Oct 20, 2023 12:26 am

Hi Ricardo,

I'm really interested in your long haul Airbus series. It's going to be pretty great to finally have an A340 series.

I tend to be more into "study level" type addons but really that's just for systems depth, I'm not bothered about failures or circuit breakers and all the minute details. Replicating a flight from A to B is what I enjoy.

I notice that you have said your Airbuses will be VATSIM level which is encouraging, but can you expand on this a little please?
Will they eventually have a full, custom MCDU/FMS? Will you be able to edit SID or STAR waypoints, do directs on the procedures, modify speed/altitude constraints? Will it be possible to to RNAV/RNP approaches with lateral and vertical guidance? Full vertical navigation with all Airbus modes including managed/selected? Accurate green dot speed and flap extension/retractions speeds? GS Mini? etc, all the things that make an Airbus, well an Airbus?

I like the Airbus series so far with the Horizon mods - I'd be after at least that level of fidelity but preferably a bit higher as the Horizon/FBW mods don't currently support RNAV or RNP approaches.

Just want to gauge the kind of level you are aiming for as I'm certainly very interested based on what you've said so far.
And congratulations on the work you've obviously invested to make your aircraft much more in-depth and detailed than they were at first, you've clearly invested a lot in improving and progressing which I think is highly commendable.

The green dot and all speeds are accurate right now on the A330-900. The MCDU and RNAV/RNP all of that will be implemented soon and on release on the A340-300.

This sounds very promising indeed Ricardo, thank you. Now I'm really looking forward to the A330/340 series
