I have started having trouble with the engines spooling up and down aggressively, when flying the approach making it very difficult to complete the landing. Have you any ideas what causing this?

who is controlling them? the ATH or you manually?

Hi I have the 318 on auto pilot to pick up the ILS then thats when the trouble starts . is the a way I can alter the settings.

So its on Auto Throttle. So it will all depend on what speed its set on the CDU, the AT is reacting to that speed.

What I recommend you set the speed yourself, typicall 125-135kts on the 318 should do OK.
