I need help with the altitude select and the VS dial

I am flying on XBOX X- I reached the altitude I put in with the Flight computer and the altitude select..But, I could not get the VS speeds that I seleted to work. It went to the altitude as per the spec I put in the flight computer. When I wanted to descend..It would not responde to my altitude selected..if fact it would NOT let me chage the altitude. And the VS did not work.
I have been flying Air Bus 319 in XPlane for several years.. and they do not behave like this. What am I doing wrong?
or is it a bug..? Sigh

This plane replicates the exact systems as the default a320neo. Do you have this problem in the 320neo too?

Yes the same problem with the A 320 that came with MSFS XBOX X

Make sure you assign controls for the cockpit interactions - primary, secondary, and tertiary actions.

For example, with a mouse, the primary action is left click, secondary action is right click, and tertiary action is button 4 (on the side). This will allow you grab, push, and pull knobs. Mouse scroll wheel is for increase and decrease for switches and turning knobs.

I'm not sure how you would assign those actions to a XBOX X controller.
