KBWI terrain issues

Post by Keirtt » Thu Nov 10, 2022 9:18 pm

Unfortunately I’m not able to provide any pictures at the moment, but I’m finding there are frequent bumps and terrain issues on taxiways and runways. I noticed taxiing to runway 28 this afternoon, taxiways T, C, and U all seemed to have some sort of a normality. Departing runway 28 there were also some uneven bumps. I really hope this can be smoothed out some more in the next patch.

I also posted on the Facebook page about the ARFF trucks showing they were from Chile. Otherwise all good, but really want to get this terrain situation sorted out. Thanks guys!

Thanks as always Ricardo. I know some other folks echoed this same concern on avsim.

Hey Ricardo - Airport looks great but I can also confirm numerous terrain 'bumps'. I hit several after landing on 10 and I also hit them landing on 33L. I know there are some taxiway issues also but did not yet note exact locations.

I am getting this as well on all of the runways.

A lot of the taxiways need to be smoothed out as well.

Do you guys not BETA test your products? Seems like an odd thing not to figure out before you put it on sale.

Running into this as well. Here's a video I made showing how lumpy taxiway U and runway 28 are: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zJzl6IxpJc8

This was a day-one buy for me until I read about these issues. I'm holding off on purchasing until I see a fix.

Since KBWI is in an area of very sloped terrain, we wanted to make this as realistic as possible. Doing that has caused this. We will have to remove the realistic terrain in KBWI and have it all flattened out in order to stop this from happening.

I guess if we have to choose between realistic runways and unrealistic terrain and realistic terrain but unrealistic runways. I'd rather have realistic runways.

The area around the airport is quite hilly, but the movement areas are mostly built up on plateaus and are only very slightly sloped with the exception of taxiway P coming around the south side of Pier B which has a bit of a dip. You can see that here from runway 28, and here from runway 15R.
