P3D v6

Post by ywg256 » Mon Oct 17, 2022 9:15 pm

Alright Ill throw this grenade out there. V6 is coming. Can we assume for those of us that stuck with p3d that we may see support from lvfr for the upcoming version of p3d? I am really hoping for a better sdk that makes life easier and more profitable for you developers.

We don't know much since we are invested completely in MSFS right now.

If there isn't much to convert and work, it will be a fast thing to do. If not, we don't know. So lets wait.

I definitely understand however hopefully we will see you guys developing for p3d again. I personally am not leaving p3d and i was a beta tester for msfs. Msfs is just not for me.

I am moving my LVFR airports to P3D v6. The installer does not work because if I skip the Option to select the sim which is only P3D 5 and browse to P3d v6 the setup fails to create files. I am not sure if it is the addon or the files in the LVFR folder

All I have to do is copy the addon folder for an airport, say KMSY, in the p3d v5 addon folder and paste in it the P3D v6 addon folder. When P3D 6 runs, I enable the addon and everything looks great. I have done 3 so far and compared in with Version 5 of p3d. Actually looks better in P3D v6, not sure why but it does.

Right now we haven't tested anything in P3dv6. And the resources aren't available to see if they work in p3dv6.

In any case, a simple drag a drop will be having the scenery which installs in the addon folder be transferred to the new addon folder of p3dv6. Don't know if it will work but that would be a start
