Hi,
I find this issue with ground textures almost in all your airport addons for msfs. But this issue is the most striking in your LEBL airport. The unpaved portions of the ground/grass textures are extremely blurry and stands out sharply from the rest and not only looks bad but breaks the immersion quite a bit. The arid lands may be true to life but it would have been great if u could have used some handcrafted foliage or use some custom high-res ground texture to replace those, atleast within the airport boundary and in immediate vicinity. Almost all other devs are covering those areas with custom ground textures/grass which looks beautiful. Everything else is ok, but its this issue that prevents me from buying your addons. Your recently posted images from upcoming LEMD airport also seems to have this issue.
Please take a note of this and it would be highly appreciated if u could place some hand done high-res ground/grass textures for your upcoming & already released airports. Below is a attached a pic of the issue for your reference.
Thanks

Re: LEBL (MSFS)-Ground textures
Hi, we might look into fixing those issues with asphalt that looks blurry. But as to the photo imagery you say other addons have some custom texture. That can be done, but it won't look realistic, since a custom texture is a repetition of one texture many times. Care to mention which airport you say uses this method?
We are always open to hear feedback into getting things done better. So thank you for that.

Thanks for your reply and good to hear that. But my primary concern is with the unpaved portions of the ground thats much more striking than the slightly low-res asphalt textures..RicardoLVFR wrote: ↑Mon Feb 08, 2021 4:28 pmHi, we might look into fixing those issues with asphalt that looks blurry
There are many, almost all other addons. I have just posted below pics of 3 airports from 3 different devs- innsbruck, florence, dulles airport and there are many more. They all have used custom foliage/ high-res textures that may not be 100% accurate to real life in color, positioning & height, etc. and infact accuracy to such an extent with respect to foliage/grass textures is not required also, but those custom foliage/textures resembles real life to quite an extent and most importantly whatever has been used are not blurry and therefore looks natural and good. I understand your point regarding true to life textures but in that case, u would agree with me that real life ground definitely doesn't look so pixelated and blurry , so please make use of someRicardoLVFR wrote: ↑Mon Feb 08, 2021 4:28 pmCare to mention which airport you say uses this method?
higher-resolution/hand done textures to replace those. I saw a youtube video review mentioning this issue as well. The present ones are extremely blurry and displeasing to look at from the cockpit or aircraft windows. I hope u would also understand & agree with me in all these points by comparing the below pics.
Thanks

Re: LEBL (MSFS)-Ground textures
Hi, I see what you mean. The grass/foliage is auto generated by the underneath satellite imagery. That's not controlled by us.Aflyer wrote: ↑Tue Feb 09, 2021 6:29 amThanks for your reply and good to hear that. And its not a repeated texture as the one you suggested we do, what I see is satellite imagery, not a 'custom texture'.
Thanks for the suggestions and will keep them in mind for our products.

Just one query...Do you mean to say that all such ground textures for all the other airport addons are the default bing satellite imagery?? I mean, how can it be that all other addon airport areas have so crisp and high-res default ground textures ?? Moreover, its surprising to see that the autogenerated foliage from underneath satellite imagery(as u say) follows the runway/taxiway edges or in general the edges of paved surfaces so precisely and accurately(as seen in the 3rd pic I posted above of florence airport). Its quite surprising to know that they are all default ones because the default bing imagery has several anomalies and blurry areas.RicardoLVFR wrote: ↑Tue Feb 09, 2021 12:43 pmwhat I see is satellite imagery, not a 'custom texture'
I am aware that such foliage are autogenerated from the underneath imagery, but as far as I know until now, custom foliage/textures have been used to cover some blurry ground areas or remove some anomalies at some places within the airport areas for other addons.
And if I consider they are all the default imagery, in that case- Is it not somehow possible to cover such blurry ground textures as in LEBL with some high-res textures ??
Waiting for ur reply
Thanks again

Hi, I did not say 'default bing imagery' its photo satellite imagery. Not a 'custom texture' as you have implied.Aflyer wrote: ↑Tue Feb 09, 2021 2:16 pmRicardoLVFR wrote: ↑Tue Feb 09, 2021 12:43 pmThe grass/foliage is auto generated by the underneath satellite imagery.Just one query...Do you mean to say that all such ground textures for all the other airport addons are the default bing satellite imagery?? However, to your point, we can if we wanted add our own satellite imagery, not bing imagery, in the case of all our our airports released till today, we have put in our own satellite tile imagery. Not our photo imagery. In the pictures you show, I am not sure if that's satellite tile imagery as we have, or satellite photo imagery.
The foliage you seem to mention, seems to be more abundant when the underground satellite imagery is more green or grass like. If its a bit barren like Barcelona or Madrid, its very hard to have that kind of foliage. Though certain areas do have.
Believe me we have had access to this SDK for more than a year, and the developer forum, and we have been releasing airports for along time now for MSFS, so we do have a clear idea on this subject.
As for covering blurry areas with high res textures, yes we can do that, what will happen is if you do grass or sandy areas with custom imagery it will look blurry. In our case the best thing we can do is that our satellite imagery is crisp and sharp from the go, so it doesn't look blurry.
Edit: Here you can see what I mean, here is the default photo imagery in the default LEBL:
You can see the white areas or barren have less foliage
In contrast, LEBB (Bilbao) located in an area which is more green, there is more foliage, this is default too

Re: LEBL (MSFS)-Ground textures
Okk..I got it what u want to say. U mean that u use your own satellite tile imagery for ground textures in your airports.
I may be wrong in speaking out the correct technical terms but I understand the fact that the foliage is generated when the underneath satellite imagery has greener/grassy areas. Its not possible in bit arid lands like Barcelona and neither did I ask u to add some custom greenery/foliage to those airport areas which are semi-arid lands.
Basically, I posted the pics not for particularly comparing the greenery and foliage but to compare that whatever the other devs have used for their ground (whether its photo/tile imagery or the default imagery or anything else), somehow they are crisp and high-res, due to which it looks realistic as well as 'beautiful'.
Thank you very much for your help and pardon me if I bored you with so many discussions. Looking forward to any possible update regarding this...

Yes, you understood me, this was all that I wanted to say that if it's possible to have some crisper and sharper high-res textures/imagery than the blurry/pixelated ones we have now; it would look much better and natural. Now what's the best thing to do that definitely u better know.RicardoLVFR wrote: ↑Tue Feb 09, 2021 6:02 pmAs for covering blurry areas with high res textures, yes we can do that, what will happen is if you do grass or sandy areas with custom imagery it will look blurry.
