KMIA_P3dv5_5.1 Wet Runways & Ramps

Post by c141fe » Mon Nov 23, 2020 12:35 am

Just did a Full/Clean install of P3Dv5.1 and KMIA 5.1. All of the runways and taxiways appear to be covered in water even though weather is set at clear.

Saw where previously there was a problem with SODE 1.7 triggering this problem [topic "SODE 1.7 problems"], and that there was a hotfix which I could not find. Saw on another post the hotfix was incorporated into the latest installer, so I uninstalled SODE and KMIA 5.1. I then downloaded and installed SODE 1.7.1. I also did a fresh download of "21873-LatinVFR_KMIAv5.zip" from PC Aviator and installed it. The problem remained.

I was able to get rid of the rain effect by commenting out the following in "C:\ProgramData\12bPilot\SODE\xml\LatinVFR_KMIA.xml:

<!-- <SimObject Name="KMIA_RainGround">
<Placement Lat="25.7962560455721" Lon="-80.2906121534134" Alt="0.0#AGL" Hdg="0.1"/>
<Model SimTitle="LVFR_KMIArainground">
<ConditionalVisibility Variable="MetPrecipitation" Value="RAIN;SNOW"/>
</Model>
</SimObject> -->

and removing from "C:\ProgramData\12bPilot\SODE\SimObjects\LatinVFR_KMIA_PBR\sim.cfg the following entry:

[fltsim.4]
title=LVFR_KMIArainground
model=MIArainground
texture=

Is there a better way to resolve this problem and if there is a hotfix for it, where would I find it?

Thanks
Dave

hi, sorry it seems PC aviator does not have it included in the latest installers,

email us and we will send you a link of the SODE hotfix.

You should see it under download in simmarket, or you can re-download the full installer.
