ILS 28L and slope off

Post by Wise87 » Fri Mar 06, 2020 10:33 pm

Myself and another pilot were on ILS for 28L. Two things we noticed was, one how close we come to the light poles in the freight yard. Secondly we notice that the glide slope is off. It looks like the GS is configured for a flat surface and not the raised end of the slope on 28L. Whe can see this when we tune to the ILS and look at our instruments and slew to the runway (slope) and under the runway (flat). On the flat surface the ILS and instruments read correctly, roughly 1000ft mark. On the slope were to close to the end of the runway. We figure the ILS box just needs to be adjusted slightly.

Hi, we tested this, with Autolands, there might be another AFX file causing issues, as you can see in this video minute 5:20

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MKMtq--m5b4&t=338s

it works as intended.

What we did so that it can work correctly we moved the antenna (TDZ point) farther so you don't have the glideslope as if it were in a lower level. I had another customer say the same thing, but it should work as you saw in the video, please check you don't have another AFX somewhere.

Whats an AFX file and why would both of us both be seeing this? The reference video shows his ILS dropping down early also, At least that's what it looks like. Also he doesn't have the extra scenery enable to reference the light poles. Will see if we can make a video to show what were seeing.

Yes the GS goes down a bit before the TDZ, but you do get a glide path to at least past the threshold. We will move it a bit more, in any case on a sloped runway I wouldnt expect a full autoland all the way to touch down because its a very steep slope.

You may have another file from another scenery causing conflict with the ILS at 28L

Hi!

I have the same problem Wise87 has, ILS IADI 28L has a Glide Slope that if followed, the aircraft touches down almost at the end of the runway, and also the LOC is slightly drifted from the runway centerline; on the other side of the runway, 10R, there's no ILS available, tried to tune it using PMDG and FS Labs, no LOC and G/S signals, but the indications on PFD says it's identification is IADI (28L) instead of IFLL (10R) Maybe there's a conflict on ILS frequencies, both runways have the same ILS frequency 111.75 but their identification are different.

Thanks!

If you have another FLL file with another afx and ILS, this might happen. Please confirm you don't have any other KFLL AFX file active.

Sorry, I forgot to mention that I had the scenery from FSDT installed before, however, there's no AFX file related to KFLL.
Just to check if we're talking about the same thing, is AFX an AFCAD file?

Yes, an AFCAD file. Sometimes if another is active somewhere you might get that other signal.

Hi Ricardo, couldn't find any AFX file related to the airport. Is there another way to fix this issue?

Hi, de-activate the scenery or uninstall. Send me a picture of KFLL without our scenery to check.
