nighttime textures in daytime

Post by heightsmite » Sat Mar 07, 2020 8:16 pm

Getting some night textures mixing with daylight files when within a few miles on approach. More pronounced east of the airport but also present to the west.

Had this problem with Kmsy and Kmia when first installed but resolved after verifying all Orbx stuff. Using Orbx global, vector & us landclass, among others. Verifying those files didn't correct the problem this time. Mesh is set to 1m in p3d. KMIA was excluded, downtown and city buildings and puddles selected in config.

The smallest screencap I was able to make (around 600k) was too big for this forum.

Hi, I only see a dark part that is part of a wooded or swampy section on the left side of the picture, is that what you mean? its intended to be like that during the day. let me know.

In the picture provided you can also see dark areas east of the airport; those particular textures appear to be night time and stand out like an error. I see on Google maps there are some dark areas of vegetation as you mentioned, but those areas strongly appear to be night textures, especially when almost directly over the area.

If that is by design, so be it.

Hi, I understand the observation, and yes in the past I saw this with other scenery, but perhaps you are able to take pictures of this from a different angle?

Hello Ricardo-

Tried returning to the airspace just to the east of KFLL where I saw the last dark textures. Since AS for P3D is having server issues today, I tried this without weather. This time there was detail visible in the places where I thought nighttime tiles were showing through and those tiles appear more or less normal, just a bit darker than the dark green vegetation I was used to. I'd guess ASCA may have influenced the appearance. I think that answers my question.
