Long Distance Fuel Flow
I tried to do a flight from Vancouver Canada, to Manilla Philippines. This should have been well within the range of the A340, but even with a full tank a gas, it only got 3/4 of the way there. The fuel flow is too high. How can I reduce the fuel flow? Is there a setting, file, or adjustment I can make to either the programming, or adding an update? Any help is appreciated, someone is paying me to do this flight. Thanks.

Re: Long Distance Fuel Flow
Hi, please fuel plan based on the simbrief profile of the A340 that we have done.
Its in line with that fuel planning numbers.

Yes, I have done that. Please see attached screenshot. It is just a few thousand pounds over what the LVFR A340-300 can handle, but I was completely out of fuel almost 1,000 nautical miles from my destination

Re: Long Distance Fuel Flow
sorry can't see any attachment. At 1,000 NM that's a huge discrepancy.GlobalFlier wrote: ↑Sun Oct 13, 2024 12:44 amYes, I have done that. Please see attached screenshot. I will try to see how can I replicate this flight or similar flights, because we tuned the simbrief LVFR A340 model according to our consumption.

Thank you. I'll be looking forward to your findings.
Does anyone know how I can get notified when someone responds to a post or reply of mine? Currently I'm only able to search for my posts and just see if anyone has replied. Thanks in advance!

Hi, we gonna try soon. But can you test using metric units on Simbrief please?GlobalFlier wrote: ↑Sun Oct 13, 2024 4:01 amHere's what it says:

Re: Long Distance Fuel Flow
OK. I tried it again, and with all tanks full, I was only able to get 8 hours and 28 minutes of flight time. The trip is usually 11-14 hours, depending on the winds

this is so odd, will try to see if we can do a test.GlobalFlier wrote: ↑Mon Oct 14, 2024 2:11 pmOK. I tried it again, and with all tanks full, I was only able to get 8 hours and 28 minutes of flight time. The trip is usually 11-14 hours, depending on the winds
But we tested this plane on long range 14 hour sectors and it did ok. So will get back to you on this.
Curiosity, you don't use the APU during the flight?

Re: Long Distance Fuel Flow
So I just planned and flew halfway on EDDF-KLAX
I used the simbrief default A340-300 profile, not ours, did it by mistake but in any case:
I checked the OFP and the EFB (estimated fuel on board) figure and i was over 5000 to 6000 kgs all the way to the half of the trip, did not continue because the tendency wasn't going down, therefore I was going to arrive with more than the fuel planned in KLAX.
So I ask please plan a EDDF-KLAX fiight, use KGS as unit, and do with 4X time acceleration and cross check with the OFP's EFB figure to see where you start it going to see it negative.
I reached cruise of FL340 then did 360 as the flight plan asked.
Please let me know as this is quite strange and shouldn't be happening to you.
