Greetings!
Firstly, thank you so much for releasing a model of my favourite aircraft, the A340-300. I think it's slender wing and frame and balanced proportions are unmatched. The LatinVFR version of the A340 captures this beauty perfectly. The sounds are also fantastic! I love the roar and buzz of the four CFM56s on take off!
I'm well aware that this is not a study-level aircraft. It's meant to give you a flavour of the Airbus systems and flying an A340 - and is does this well.
However, in my short time flying it, I've picked up on a few bugs that would be worth looking into fixing. (I'm not going to talk about the autopilot and flight planning as I understand this is a limitation of the LatinVFR model and I'm fine with it).
1 - EFB brightness not adjustable - becomes blaringly bright at night (same with standby instrument)
2 - Once a lower display page is selected in flight, the cruise page (the default flight page with a combination of information) is no longer displayed and not selectable - (synoptic pages should be deselectable by clicking the active page button. Deselecting should returns to the default flight page. Or am I missing some way of displaying the cruise page? - OK, I've found by clicking through the pages using 'all' button I can find the cruise page. This is not exactly realistic, but it works!
3 - The model seems to have single flash strobe for me. It's pretty well known that Airbus have a double flash strobe on the wings (and single flash on the tail, I think). I tried to rename 'doubletsrobe' to 'simplestrobe' effects file in the aircraft folder and it seemed to work once but then I got no strobe lights, so I've switched to the original.
4 - When lowering the flaps to Flaps 1 the red tape comes down to Flaps 1+F speed (215). Flap 1 Speed limit is 250
5 - The Dome light is extremely bright! Even on 'DIM'! It should give a warm yellow glow around the cockpit on dim and only be brighter on 'BRT' (bright)
6 - While taxing for take off in Santiago (SCEL) the FMS changed to Approach Mode and from that point onwards the aircraft thought I'd already landed (FMA also showed 'rollout' mode was active). I may have hit a bump in the taxiway that caused it, I'm not 100% sure. But definitely need to look at the sensitivity of the change in flight stage in the FMS.
If there's a work-around for any of these issues, then please let me know, as I don't mind fiddling around if there's a fix.
King regards,
Simon
