KFLL Affecting KMIA textures

Post by pads103 » Fri Mar 06, 2020 8:12 pm

I was going to wait to see if someone else reported this issue, but I installed v. 1.1 and the issue still exists - after installation of KFLL, the ground textures at KMIA on the taxiways, ramps, gate areas disappear when panning. Thought maybe it was the sloped runway dll but it does it with the dll disabled as well. If I disable the KFLL airport addon the issue goes away and KMIA is back to normal. Any ideas?

Hi, on some systems its just too much to handle both airports at the same time. We are going to update KMIA so you can exclude KFLL via the scenery configurator.

Whenever you will do a flight to KMIA you will have the chance to exclude KFLL airport (the downtown buildings will stay).

The same way we allow you to exclude KMIA if you use KFLL.

my apologies but the airports are just too close and load up.

Do you know when this will be fixed because I see the same problem as the original poster. My system is a 1080ti, and a 8086K @ 5.2 with M2 SSD and 32gb of memory so I know it's not my system. I know your working on P3Dv5 but those of us on 4.5 would like to see this fixed.

Sorry but turning down the Autogen/Draw Distance to medium is not a good option just to get your scenery's to play nice with each other. By turning it down to medium will effect the entire sim. I've used medium before and watching autogen load right under you compared to further out is not an option, especially when your on a 10 mile final and you have to get closer for the airport to load to see it because your set to medium and not high. I use many other developers airports that are close proximity to each other like in the SFO, SEA and NYC areas and they don't cause this issue. As it stands now, KFLL is ruining the quality of KMIA.

I understand, the reality is you have 2 large PBR airports very heavy in detail, in much closer proximity to each other than any other region in the FS world.

Your system maybe struggling because it can't keep both airports at the same time, my suggestion won't change much of your enjoyment, in fact having it on medium allows me to see North Miami Beach/ Bay harbor island buildings from FLL whilst parked on the ramp and that's 14 miles away.

KMIA is 20 miles away, and having it on medium will slightly reduce the radius so that it doesn't pop up. But having that setting doesn't mean you will get buildings popping up under you, since as I said you will get up to 14 miles of objects in your view.

In reality even on a clear day and good visibility, its quite difficult to see objects and buildings as far as 20 miles.
