A330-900 Not Working (Xbox Series X)

Hi all,

So I just purchased the A330 and it literally won't fly properly. During takeoff, even keeping it in TOGA, it will not exceed past 200kts (yes flaps are retracted). In THR CLB, still won't increase speed. In Autopilot, it will not climb to the selected altitude. Even when selecting a vertical speed, the plane doesn't have enough speed to climb. Above 10,000 ft with auto thrust on, the plane will not increase speed at all (it's like the plane doesn't recognize the altitude it's at). Anybody experience this or know a fix to this? I'm on version 1.0.4 as there was no update available for the plane when I purchased it.

Hi, please try the steps outlined for departure, and let us know where exactly in this video things don't happen as its explained.

So I did everything in the video. After takeoff once the plane hits 10,000ft, it levels out to gain speed from 250kts to 320kts then resumes climb at 1500 V/S ... isn't it supposed to have a higher/faster climb rate than that without having to set V/S manually? When I set it manually to 2500 V/S for example, speed decreases from 320kts to as low as 200kts even with throttles at "Speed" and 88%

The rate of climb on the A330 is a bit slower than Boeings for example. Depending on weight and other factors.

Nonetheless we identified an issue that's going to be fixed that would improve engine power whilst climbing to Cruise.

In the meantime you can have improved engine performance if you either use TOGA all the way to cruise altitude, or ideally on the TAKEOFF PERF page on the temperature put the ambient temperature instead of the automatically assumed temp, for example, outside ambient temp is 20C, you gonna put 20C on temp section. That will allow for better and power level close to max on the plane.

Is there a way to add a negative ambient temp? the current EFB doesnt appear to have the negative symbol

If there isn't will be added to the to-do list.

Found this and it may be helpful: https://contentzone.eurocontrol.int/air ... ?ICAO=A339

2500 fpm seems outside the norm. It has been 12 years since I worked En Route ATC real world, but when I did, I never counted on wide bodies to climb fast.

True, main reason is, these planes are going to cruise for 6 to 8 hours, climbing slow, reduces wear on engines and is also economical.

There are some exceptions, I can think of the 787-8, that's a climber.
