Remove or Toggle Static Aircraft
Remove or Toggle Static Aircraft
Is it possible to remove static aircraft from airports, or have an option to toggle them off please? I fly on Vatsim and would prefer not to have static aircraft.

Hi Ricardo,
I have most of your products as they are great, KBDL (probably the most "jarring"), KMIA, KFLL, KMSY and KSAN all have statics. I haven't been to LEMD and LEBL recently but I think from memory they do too.
Whilst most aren't at the terminal which is good, when flying in/out and seeing a Southwest or Spirit and thinking its another person when flying on Vatsim, it sucks when you realise its just a static in the middle of the airport.

I understand your opinion. but even in real life, there are planes that are parked at airports for hours, without any movement. That's what we tried to depict here.

Hi Ricardo, yeah LVFR airports.
If I am using Vatsim or Live/Offline AI traffic then these statics do get in the way when something else parks there. You lose a little immersion and whilst I am not asking for them to be removed entirely, I was wondewring if it was possble to have another option to remove them or toggle them off for those that don't want them. I know some devs have done this and there are some 3rd party files on flightsim.to that also exclude statics from certain airports. Would something like that be possible for LVFR airports?

The problem with MSFS is that it may allow for this if you use the contrail version, but users of the marketplace version won't be able to do this. Making it unfair to them. We will remove them in any case because the 'static aircraft' package we have already adds aircraft to all of those airports. So in the near future they will be removed.

I have my thoughts on the marketplace from a users perspective and you take your chances by buying on that platform, but I can see from a business perspective why it is a very profitable platform. I choose not to buy on there, one because it takes ages to get updates, but also for the very reason you give. You don't get a more "personalised" experience with the marketplace, for example, a dev giving an option to remove statics or something that needs quickly fixing but then we all have to wait for MSFS to push out the update (not talking specifically about LVFR but just generally)Its frustrating from a users perspective that sometimes we are hampered by such a restricted platform.RicardoLVFR wrote: ↑Mon Mar 07, 2022 12:47 pmThe problem with MSFS is that it may allow for this if you use the contrail version, but users of the marketplace version won't be able to do this. However, moan over, thank you for considering to remove the statics. I very much look forward to it. I very much enjoy LVFR airports and also Arex and the new Vehicle texturing upgrade. Very affordable upgrades that add much to the immersion.

Add me to the list of customers who would love to see static aircraft removed at LVFR airports as well - at least the option to do it.

We will evaluate if we should remove this on the next update of the static aircraft package.
