Removing Liveries

Post by topcat1952 » Mon Mar 25, 2024 9:00 pm

I currently have the LVFR A319 and A321 (with Horizon Mods).
All my flying is limited to North America (USA & Canada) and I only use US and Canada flag carriers. However, with all the many liveries included with these planes, it is rather cumbersome to look through all the liveries, most of which I will never use.
Is there an easy way to remove unwanted iveries? Aircraft were purchased in the MSFS Marketplace. :?:

Thanks!

Hi, you can't unfortunately remove them. If you use PC, we can tell you how to modify the aircraft.cfg and it would allow you to only see the ones you prefer.

Yes, I only use a PC for MSFS flying. So, instructions on modifying aircraft.cfg would be much appreciated. I did try removing the various textures in the SimObjects/Airplanes folder, but that did not remove them completely.
Thanks so much, Ricardo!

so go to the community folder,

for example the 321neo,

simobjects, airplanes/A321neoLEAP folder

open the aircraft.cfg with a note pad

and have also a notepad open to copy/paste to the blank note pad the FLIGHTSIM entry of the livery you want, in this case you mentioned north american.

Then on the aircarft.cfg remove all starting from the FLIGHTSIM 1, leave the [FLTSIM.0]

then from the blank notepad, copy to the aircraft.cfg those you wanted

make sure that the order of sequence starts with 1 and continues, in the event its 5 liveries, put them in numerical order each of them, 1, 2, 3 so on.

and save.

The aircraft.cfg now ill contain the liveries you prefer.

Make sure you backup the old somewhere you would like to have.

Thanks.
It may because I purchased the A319 and A320 from the MSFS Marketplace but there is no "aircraft.cfg" file where you mentioned. There are many cfg files in the folder you mentioned in your example, but no aircaft.cfg.
Any other ideas?
Perhaps something to do with the Horizons mod? There is an aircraft.cfg mod in their folder structure.
Thanks again.

The folder you mention seems to be in the Community folder with the file created by the Horizon Mod. Perhaps that is what you meant and I did not understand correctly. Sorry about that. So, I fill follow your directions modifying that folder and then, see what happens (making a copy first, of course).
Thanks again.
