KMCO for P3D . . . Ever?

Post by PC Pilot » Sat Apr 03, 2021 4:48 pm

I have been searching over the past several months for an addon to place KMCO into P3D without any success. It seems KMCO exists for the older sims (FSX, FS2004) but now P3D. I know everyone is excited about MSFS but for those of us who want to keep flying a PC Simulator that actually works (there are so many issues with MSFS) are there any plans for LVFR to bring KMCO to P3D?

Hi, the main problem with KMCO is that for MSFS there is a decent version of it, and doing it only for P3d won't be enough to recoup the costs associated with it.

Taxi2gate does have the files ( I think) from the FSX version to actually convert to a fully functional P3dv4-5 version.

Would be wonderful if they ever go on the record about it.

Thanks, Ricardo.

For some reason I thought I remembered seeing a post LVFR had KMCO on the list for P3D. I did see Taxi2Gate has a FSX version but it wasn’t clear to me if it works in P3D v4. Anyway, I would have guessed KMCO would generate a decent amount of sales which is why I’m a bit surprised LVFR won’t be developing it. However, I understand it’s a business decision.

I just hope you will continue to create new airports for P3D.

Thanks again for your response and insight.

I also would love MCO and any other airports for P3Dv4, but I understand the business end of it. Until MSFS gets better, P3Dv4 is where I'll be.

Hi, KMCO is my home airport. So believe me, it pains me not to do it. We will keep an ear out for Taxi2gate and what they do.

KMCO taxi2Gate works just fine in P3D. If you know how to use ADE follow these directions:

"Open KMCO_AF.bgl with ADE, go to Tools -> Load Stock Data and check taxi signs. Once the default taxi signs are loaded into the ADE, then go to Lists ->Taxi Signs, click on "select all" then "delete". This places a tiny exclusion box around every one of the signs which were showing through from the default scenery. Compile the ADE and place it into the scenery folder, and rename the original to KMCO_AF.OFF."

this deletes the default taxi way signs that spawn on the airport with the Taxi2Gate scenery. after this is done you have a functional payware airport.

Hi Ricardo,

I completely understand the business case for not developing KMCO now, and I feel the frustration. I also think it might be worthwhile to revisit the idea once the new terminal is completed.

Best,

Luis

I totally agree, Jim. I purchased the Deluxe version and what a mistake. I uninstalled it because there seems to be way too many issues including privacy. I don’t know if I’ll ever install it again.
