Hello,
I have purchased your a340 in MSFS Xbox, which I have used for a bunch of ~1/2 hour flights with no issues. Yesterday I attempted a longer flight (and added more fuel to the tanks, in MSFS's menu) but the airplane wouldn't hold a flight level!
With AP and A-THR on, the plane would use 93% power and begin a +500fpm climb and then an even harsher descent. With selected altitude at 39000 the plane would oscillate more and more (36000 to 40000, then to 42000) until I turned off AP and A-THR and managed my attitude and throttle manually. As soon as I turned them on again the bouncing started once more.
Important detail: I turned up the Sim Rate to 8x.
Any idea of why that happens and how can the behaviour be fixed? Thanks for your attention!

Hi, how are you chosing the cruise level?
FL390 or 400 is ideal in lower weights.
Can you try doing flight plans with simbrief? it can help you select an accurate cruise level based on your weight and load.
As for bouncing, it must be more noticable because of time acceleration.

Re: Bouncing during cruise
Hello again,
I usually follow the game ATC's instructions for flight level, except when on approach, since it'll insist on between 160 and 190 until you've reached Pattern Entry and all of a sudden it'll instruct you to drop to 6000ft!
I haven't tried Simbrief on the a340 yet, just used MSFS flight planning -which by the way is something I really like about LVFR planes, being able to do just that. I'll give it a shot, use the proper FL setting according to the plan it builds and report back!
Ps: I also tried accelerating the SIM rate with the default 747, it does the same bouncing thing on 8x. At something a bit less extreme, like 4x, both the 747 and a340 settle down and cruise nicely

Re: Bouncing during cruise
Hi, the suggested cruise level in MSFS will always be the highest possible, which is not the recommended nor optimum flight level.
In any case you can try to change the cruise level on the flight planner before you load the flight. Shoot for FL340-360 max.
