Yep it's a shame if these won't be optimized...
The PBR is the best looking thing I don't see how we can give it up in v5 it's like going back to v3...
Btw why does the PBR version have s separate installation? Why can't it be done via the configuration tool? It's a headache switching since in the current state some aircraft (the less complex ones) can be flown into the PBR version...
You can still have KMIA PBR, but you need to play around with your settings, you can't expect to have most shadows enabled, texture resolution at 4096x4096 and a huge mega airport with full PBR materials to run smoothly in P3dv5 yet.

It is as frustrating for us who developed this to see these problems on this new sim as it is for you.

When we did KMIAv5 for P3dv4 we wanted to do top of the class PBR scenery, and it ran very very well in all systems that used it in P3dv4.

We have since waited for Lockheed to address these VRAM issues, we had expected, that's why as an interim we offered the non PBR version.

I can't even run the non-PBR FLL at 2048 (w/ texture streaming) with EA off without crashing. LM has created a bad situation for those of us with 8GB and at a time when we can't even upgrade because there's zero supply of GPUs.

LM is not to blame, fact is many great sceneries out there. What I see is authors seek to balance PBR and the scope of thier projects to be usable and flyable with study level aircraft and decent AI. You never see mass blanket use of wet taxiway and runways and every surface subject to pbr. Having overlooked KMIA rwy 9 from my office for over 6 years I can say I never the MIA runway with wet effect, there is a reason they are grooved, the water does not pool. Maybe we can encourage LatinVFR to take a more measured approach to PBR to glass, curved surfaces and ground textures.

Hi, we have provided customers the option of not having the wet effect, you can email us and we will send you the file you need for that.

In any case, that alone will not cause performance issues. Its the amount of PBR textures on buildings the main problem, coupled with shadows and the region around KMIA which has always been , since the FSX days, performance sensitive, and with the VRAM limitations in P3dv5, we are back as if we are with FSX with huge limitations on performance.

Thanks you can you provide the email to my PM. Question does v4.5 jetways work with v5? I really would prefer to remove the pbr in the jetways too.

thanks

This.... I have a brand new system and even with 8GB of VRAM-and haven’t even installed KMIA yet I can’t run KFLL on 2048... So it’s a compromise as usual. I can have 30-60fps, with 1024 textures or I can have 15-30FPS and out of vram errors with 2048 textures. Forget 4096!
