I answered my own question. Going down one level in texture size did the trick. What had me baffled was LEMD using more VRAM than KMIA and KFLL combined at my high settings.

Hi Ricardo, I recently had to uninstall LEMD for P3Dv5 because I'm running out of VRAM. I lowered settings to include unchecking static aircraft, HD ground airport (clutter) objects, and ramp animations in the configuration options. I completely understand the business case for not developing KMCO now, and I feel the frustration. I also think it might be worthwhile to revisit the idea once the new terminal is completed.
